General Affidavit

A General Affidavit is a sworn statement of facts. You type the statement in your own words. We insert your information into a formal affidavit template — no edits, no advice.

Important: This is self-help document preparation, not legal advice. We are not attorneys. We do not advise on what to include in your affidavit, whether your statement is legally sufficient, or which jurisdiction applies. You write the statement; we format it. If you need legal advice, consult a licensed attorney.

When a notarized general affidavit is commonly used

A general affidavit is a flexible sworn statement of facts. People commonly use one when:

The general affidavit is intentionally generic — you supply the facts in your own words. Some specific situations (immigration, real estate, lost titles) have purpose-built affidavit forms; check YYMA's other documents if one of those fits better.

What YYMA's general affidavit captures

You enter the statement directly. Our system inserts it verbatim into a pre-existing affidavit template — no edits, no rewording, no advice on content.

Why the bilingual pack

If the recipient of your affidavit reads Spanish (or English), the Bilingual Pack delivers both versions in one order. Useful when the affidavit will be reviewed across language lines — for example, by a foreign court, an immigration officer, or a Spanish-speaking family member. The English-only and Spanish-only options ($9.99 each) are there if you only need one.

How Remote Online Notarization works

Remote Online Notarization (RON) is an optional add-on service. You connect with a Florida-commissioned notary by video, show a valid government-issued ID on camera, and sign the affidavit on screen. The notary witnesses the signing and applies a digital notary seal. You can be physically located in any of the 50 states; the notarial act is performed from Florida.

Frequently asked questions

What does YYMA's general affidavit include?

A formatted PDF with the affiant (you), the sworn statement you enter in your own words, state and county of execution, date, and a notary acknowledgment block ready for signing. The Bilingual Pack adds the same content in Spanish as a second PDF.

Can YYMA help me write the statement?

No. We don't draft, edit, suggest, or review the content of your sworn statement. You write it in your own words; our system inserts it verbatim. If you need help drafting the statement, consult a licensed attorney.

Do I have to be present in person to sign?

No. You can have the affidavit notarized in person by any commissioned notary, or use YYMA's optional Remote Online Notarization add-on — you sign from anywhere in the 50 states via video with a Florida-commissioned notary.

Can YYMA notarize my affidavit online (RON)?

Yes. Add Remote Online Notarization at checkout. You connect with a Florida-commissioned notary by video; the signer can be in any of the 50 states.

How is a general affidavit different from an identity affidavit?

A general affidavit is a flexible sworn statement on any topic. An identity affidavit is a purpose-built affidavit that specifically addresses identity or name discrepancies between documents. If your statement is mainly about confirming identity or name variations, the identity affidavit template is more direct.

Is YYMA a law firm?

No. YYMA Notary Services LLC is a non-attorney document preparation service. We don't provide legal advice. If you need advice about whether an affidavit is appropriate for your situation, or how to word your statement, consult a licensed attorney.
